What happens, step by step
- Digital intraoral scan and orthodontic records
- 3D treatment simulation — you see the projected end result first
- Aligner series manufactured to the approved plan
- Attachments bonded and the first trays fitted
- Trays changed every 7 to 14 days at home
- Review every 6 to 8 weeks
- Retainers at the end of treatment
Aftercare
- Wear each tray 20 to 22 hours a day — this is the single factor that determines success
- Remove for eating and for anything other than water
- Clean trays with cool water; hot water warps them
- Keep the previous tray until the new one seats fully
- Wear retainers nightly afterwards, indefinitely
How we quote clear aligners
We do not publish a figure for this treatment, because the honest answer is that it depends on what we find. Two patients needing clear aligners can need very different work. You get your cost in writing after the examination and X-ray — before anything begins.

during treatment. If the plan changes clinically, we stop and discuss it with you

Clear Aligners — frequently asked questions
Are clear aligners as effective as braces?
For mild to moderate crowding and spacing, yes. For severe rotations, large extraction gaps or significant bite correction, fixed braces remain more predictable. We will tell you honestly which category you fall into at the assessment.
Can people tell I am wearing them?
Rarely. The trays are transparent, though the small tooth-coloured attachments bonded to some teeth are visible close up.
What happens if I do not wear them enough?
Treatment stalls and the trays stop fitting. Aligners only work while they are in your mouth — under 20 hours a day and the plan slips, sometimes requiring a costly re-scan and new series.
Can I eat with aligners in?
No. Remove them for all food and for any drink other than plain water. Hot drinks warp the plastic and coloured drinks stain it.
