Frequently asked questions
The things patients ask us on the phone before booking. If your question is not here, call +91 84548 82036 and ask.
Costs & payment
How do I find out what my treatment will cost?
Book an examination. We quote after the X-ray and a full assessment, in writing, before any treatment begins — a figure given without looking at the tooth is a guess. If you would rather not travel first, send a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you what is likely to be involved.
Why do you not publish a price list?
Because for almost every treatment the honest answer is that it depends on what we find. Two patients needing the same procedure can need very different work. Rather than advertise a low figure and revise it at the chair, we quote once, in writing, after examining you.
Will the final bill match the quote?
Yes. We quote after the examination and X-ray, not during treatment. If something changes clinically once we begin, we stop and discuss it with you before continuing — you will never be presented with an unexplained higher bill at the end.
Do you accept dental insurance?
We provide itemised invoices and treatment documentation for reimbursement claims. Most Indian health policies cover dental treatment only when it follows an accident or is medically necessary rather than cosmetic. Check your policy wording before treatment and we will supply whatever paperwork your insurer asks for.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, UPI, and credit or debit cards.
Can treatment be done in stages?
Yes, and for larger cases we often recommend it. We sequence the work so each stage is complete and functional in itself, which means you can pause between stages without being left mid-treatment.
Appointments & access
Do you see emergency patients the same day?
Yes. Call +91 84548 82036 and we will fit genuine emergencies — severe pain, facial swelling, a knocked-out tooth, a broken front tooth — into the day's list. Please phone rather than walking in, so we can prepare and keep your wait short.
Is the free pick-up and drop genuinely free?
Yes, anywhere in Mira Road, with no minimum treatment value. We collect you from home and take you back. It exists for elderly patients, anyone travelling alone after oral surgery, and parents managing small children — but anyone can ask for it.
What is the free online consultation?
Send a clear photo of the tooth on WhatsApp to +91 84548 82036 and one of our dentists will give you an opinion before you travel. It is not a substitute for an examination — we cannot diagnose from a photograph — but it will tell you whether you need to come in urgently, and roughly what to expect.
Are you open on Sundays?
Yes, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Monday to Saturday we are open 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Is the clinic accessible for elderly patients?
We are on the ground floor — shops 7 and 8 — so there are no stairs at all. Combined with free pick-up and drop, that is why a large share of our patients are seniors.
Treatment & safety
What sterilisation protocol do you follow?
Class B autoclave sterilisation, single-use items wherever clinically appropriate, and instrument pouches opened in front of you at the chair. We keep autoclave cycle logs and will show them to you if you ask — patients do ask, and we would rather they did.
Will you recommend treatment I do not need?
Our written rule is the conservative option first. If a filling will do, we will not crown the tooth. If your own teeth can be straightened, we will not veneer them. Where the simpler option is clinically the better one, we say so — and where something can safely wait, we tell you that too.
Can I get a second opinion on a plan from another clinic?
Yes, and you should for anything major. Bring your X-rays and the written plan. We will tell you plainly whether we agree, including when the other clinic's plan is the right one.
What warranty do you provide?
Written warranty cards from five years to lifetime depending on the component, covering our dental prosthetics — crowns, bridges and implant restorations. The warranty is conditional on attending your six-monthly reviews and wearing a night guard where one has been prescribed.
Do you treat patients with diabetes or on blood thinners?
Yes, routinely. Tell us at booking, bring your current medication list and recent HbA1c or INR readings if you have them, and we will sequence treatment around your medical condition — and liaise with your physician where needed.
The clinic
Where exactly is DentoXpert?
Shop No. 7 and 8, Lilac Building, Jhangid Enclave, directly opposite Laxmi Park in Kanakia, next to the M.B.M.C. office, Mira Road East 401107.
Which languages do your dentists speak?
English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati across the team. Tell us your preference when booking and we will schedule you with a dentist who speaks it.
Do you have specialists, or one dentist doing everything?
Specialists. An implantologist, orthodontist, endodontist and paediatric dentist all practise at this clinic, so you are not referred elsewhere mid-treatment. We also mill crowns and bridges in our own German CAD/CAM lab on site, which usually saves a visit.
How long has the clinic been in Mira Road?
Fourteen years, at the Kanakia location. Around 40,000 patient visits and more than 8,000 implant patients in that time.
